Capital Campaign
The Center is temporarily located in a building donated by local benefactors. Funds from the Capital Campaign will be used to build a permanent home from which to serve abused children and their non-offending family members in Alachua County.

The building will accommodate all programs and activities currently offered at the Center and future programs that are being developed. A larger facility will allow more use of volunteers, interns, staff, and the multidisciplinary team will be adequately accommodated. In order to house existing programs and programs in development the new Center must be between 7,000 and 10,000 square feet.

The Center will be a child friendly, child focused facility designed to provide a safe, comfortable and neutral place where forensic interviews can be conducted and other services can be provided for children and families. While the final design for the Center in Gainesville has not been decided the basic criteria of the National Children's Alliance will be followed to insure that children and families feel physically and psychologically safe and comfortable. These include attention to physical setting and assuring it meets basic child safety standards, ensuring that suspected perpetrators do not have access to the Center, providing adequate supervision of child abuse victims and their families while they are on the premises, and creating an environment that reflects the diversity of clients served. The goal is to have the core agencies mandated to intervene with children who have been abused co-located to streamline our response to abused children's needs..
