Our Child Advocacy Center located in Gainesville, Florida is a safe place for abused and neglected children. Our team of counselors and therapists listen to and stand with child victims:
- When they tell their story of abuse
- Provide counseling sessions
- And prepare families for a court system that can be frightening.
All the while, the Center works with outside agencies to coordinate long-term care to ensure child victims get the resources they need every step of the way.
The goal of CACs is to improve the community’s response to child abuse and to minimize the trauma to children and their families. This is accomplished through the coordination of law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution, medical services, mental health services, advocacy and education.
Supported in part by the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners
